The much expected follow-up to the first EP by Haryon is now finally out. This comes not only as a masterfully played Dungeon Synth tribute to Tolkien's world, but also, as expected from Murgrind, a highly orchestral, masterfully composed soundtrack for escapism and reveries. It's rare, especially in nowadays scene, to find such a sincere and well thought musical experience - because this album transcends mere DS and becomes an unique take on the genre, like most Murgrind releases manged before! For those of use whose attention span isn't what it was for ambient and who need something more narrative than noise, there is the sub-genre of atmospheric black metal that I'm inclined to call "monolithic". Paysage d'Hiver might be the archetypal example. But if you just want to be consumed by a relentless wall of beautiful air pressure, this is ideal. Luke
